Software upgrade for library catalog

On August 10th, the WCC library upgraded to the latest version of the Library Integrated Software, SirsiDynix Corporation’s Unicorn. Library users should notice an easier to use Web catalog interface, with customized links to other Library software and services.

New features include tabbed display screens, better location and availability display, and the ability to place holds on checked out items directly from the item record.

Looking for the latest acquisitions in the Library? Check the “New Arrivals” link at the top right of the Library Catalog. This dynamically updated list gives all new available arrivals at the Library in the last six weeks. If you are interested in what the Library just received in the Browsing collection, click on the “New Browsing Books” link.

The navigation toolbar at the top of the Library Catalog screen has links to other WCC Library resources, such as the Research Databases, ERes Electronic Reserve, and Live Chat (Research Help Now, the WCC Library’s Virtual Reference service.

The Library Catalog is linked from the Library home page; look for the “Library Catalog and Research Databases” link on the left-hand navigation area.
