What is a Human Library?
A Human Library is where “books” are people who are labeled and available for “check out,” creating a cross section of “books” representing the diversity of our campus community.

The “books” are not experts — instead, they tell their story and dialog with the “reader.” This allows participants to engage with people from all walks of life and break down barriers that are cornerstones of prejudice.

The first Human Library was held in Copenhagen, Denmark by a small group of young people called “Stop the Violence” in 2000.

Real people.
Real conversations.
Share stories.
Challenge stereotypes.
Build understanding.

Free lunch and prizes for student participants!

WCC’s Bailey Library would like to learn more about the kind of research WCC students were asked to do in high school. We are getting together four small groups of students to discuss this topic. Each student will get a FREE lunch and be put in a drawing for WCC Bookstore vouchers.

We are inviting you to join one of our small group sessions. Your input will help the library to make sure WCC students get the research help they need.

Click here to choose a small group session date. Please RSVP by Wednesday, October 12.

We look forward to talking with you!
