About 30 students participated in a student focus group at the Bailey Library on November 12, 2008. The staff was eager to listen what students had to say about the services and resources available at the library and the computer commons.
A free flowing, give-and-take discussion focused on the following questions:
What do you like most about the library and the computer commons?
What do you dislike most about the library and the computer commons?
What improvements would you like to see in the library and the computer commons?
The library staff gathered honest input and valuable suggestions from the students and planned to follow up on some of them. For example:
- Irregular temperature on the north and south end of the library
- Collection enhancement in the HVAC, Math, and Arabic-English dictionary areas.
- Noise control in the computer commons
- Online lab assistance in the computer commons
If you could not attend the student focus group and would like to give the staff your input and suggestions, you are always welcome to do so by filling out this online form on the library website.
